ronan vs thanos

Would the power stone be enough for Ronan to defeat Thanos?

The film opens with Chris Pratt’s Star-Lord singing along to “Come And Get Your Love.” And there’s a general breeziness to the dialogue that allows low-key jokes like everyone’s refusal to use the name “Star-Lord” feel more natural than, say, a very similar gag in Ant-Man.

Thanos did what Ronan couldn’t without a stone also Ronan is always submissive in thanos’ presence. I think Ronan can hold his own against Thanos but even Korath (Ronan's right hand man) states that ''Thanos is the most powerful being in the universe'' and even doubts that even Ronan with a infinity stone could beat him and Korath has probably seen Ronan in action more than anyone else so this does mean a lot even with Ronan saying that with the stone Thanos is no longer the most powerful being in the universe but his mind wasn't in the right place at the time or he was just to self confident but at the end of the day I say the victor is Thanos.

Thanos has the will to easily grab the stone with the creativity, strategy and heart that quill has. If need be, he can snap Ronan's hammer in two and just take the power stone for himself once he gets close. Speaking of Ronan, time has not been nearly as kind to him: When he popped up as a younger Accuser in Captain Marvel, he was somehow even less interesting.

And considering Ronan's best strength feat is beating Drax someone who Thanos one shot and BFR/KO then this becomes even more silly. Ronan should win since the power stone has shown it can hurt Thor level durability and has long range capabilities. I posted this elsewhere, but I'll post this here: If it's Thanos vs Ronan with no stones what-so-ever, I think Thanos takes this with mild difficulty. Ronan had two priorities.

Ronan doesn't display physicals comparable to Thanos.

If Ronan gets in range, though, Thanos is as good as dead.

if IW iron man can shield himself and tank an energy blast from power stone so can thanos .ronan has nothing . Ronan manhandled Drax, but so would Thanos. The Power Stone was already shown to be able to destroy the surface of planets, it was heavily implied that the Infinity Stones have great power, Ronan should win, I think Ronan with an Infinity Stone was implied to be more Powerful than Base Thanos: Korath the Pursuer: Master! We talking about Batman with prep time intelligent? Thanos is the most feared man in the universe (as far as we know). ※Ronan strikes were without stones but it was way harder than Thanos(4gems) strike to Drax and with less effort. Without the power stone, Thanos stomps Ronan and his forces easily.

Thanos already was a surface wiper with no stones. I wouldn't discount either one here. If Ronan fails to tap into the stone's real power, Thanos can very likely overcome him. A challenge so absurd he dropped his guard.

Potentially, Ronan does have enough power to destroy planets but in Infinity War Thanos only bleeds twice in the entire film ,the first time was just a cut from all the fighting and bashing he took in from the Titan fight and the second time was Thor's mighty not so revenge on Thanos. @aka_aka_aka_ak: Ronan needed a powerstone to have the balls to go to xander, Thanos goes to xander and destroys the planet taking the stone. As he was capable of destroying a planet.

By the time James Gunn’s Guardians Of The Galaxy rolled around, 10 installments deep into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it was abundantly clear that these movies had developed a villain problem. If it's Thanos vs Ronan with no stones what-so-ever, I think Thanos takes this with mild difficulty. To mark the occasion, The A.V. Ronan the Accuser was working as a pawn for Thanos as he attempted to acquire the Power Stone from the Guardians of the Galaxy in their first film, but he is no weakling in comparison to the Mad Titan. 1. Big Bads: Jasmine, Master, Adam, Dark Willow, Spike with Ring of Amara, The Beast, Ascended Mayor, Glory, Pre Depowered Illyria. Depends on how the fight goes. (Both of them have giant ships and a army). SPOILER COMMENT IF YOU HAVEN'T WATCHED ENDGAME. Not so sure about the intelligence part, dude could’ve used a talk or two with some scientists to know that killing half the universe wasn’t gonna solve his problem. Press J to jump to the feed. The scene involves Thanos summoning Ronan to the big space rock we last saw in the stinger from The Avengers so he can yell at him for losing Gamora and “the orb” (an object that is later revealed to be an Infinity Stone).

thanos wins . Guardians Of The Galaxy is a fun movie, and virtually everything else about it is at least reasonably entertaining. Thanos is a fictional supervillain appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. The character was created by writer-artist Jim Starlin, and made his first appearance in The Invincible Iron Man #55 (cover dated February 1973). Thanos was having fun.

Depends.

You can not! Ronan clearly demonstrated his ability to wield an Infinity Stone, which is something almost nobody in the universe can do. Successfully defeated the new Guardians with the aid of Doctor Strange, Iron Man and Iron Spider with relative ease. Depends on how well Ronan knows how to use the stone, I suppose. ‎Read reviews, compare customer ratings, see screenshots, and learn more about Marvel Contest of Champions. Thanos wasn't really trying to kill him, so I think we can't say that IM can tank Power Gem. Whether or not Ronan wins comes down to two factors unspecified in the post: Is Thanos close enough to get the stone before Ronan uses it?

Him knowing Ronan is coming after him makes me believe thanos would wipe him before Ronan gets to fully utilize the stone. Ronan should win this based on feats. And even then, to hurt thanos, Thor had to snipe him. Thanos could lure him into a trap or otherwise outsmart him. The scene involves Thanos summoning Ronan to the big space rock we last saw in the stinger from The Avengers so he can yell at him for losing Gamora and “the orb” (an object that is later revealed to be an Infinity Stone). Also, one could argue that his absolute seriousness works as a good setup for how gobsmacked he is by Star-Lord, Rocket, and the other goofballs who eventually defeat him in the end. Here, the only indication that he has a personality is when he flashes Ronan a smile after sending him off with his tail between his legs. If this were the comics, Thanos would beat him regardless of whether or not he had the power stone. The thing that makes thanos terrifying besides his raw power is his intelligence. Why he would be safe from the power stone destruction if the only difference between him and Thanos is that he is closer to the source(the power stone) ? Plus, the Black Order are trained specifically to defeat the infinity stones and their wielders, so that’s also going for him. If you love to imagine the planet-exploding battles of the fictional gods who will never be, taking pointless knowledge gathered from a life spent reading and gaming and swinging it like a gladiator's sword in discussions on reddit... then welcome home, my friend. Another is that both Pace and Brolin play the characters as little more than growling tough guys, so it’s about as exciting as one villain saying, “Don’t fuck with me,” and the other saying, “No, you don’t fuck with me.”. Thanos is a beast, but can't stand up to the power of a properly wielded infinity stone. For starters, Thanos can easily remove it out of his hammer. If the heroes were fun and alive with personality, more often than not, their adversaries at this point were just brick walls meant to be smashed. Thanos and the Silver Surfer hit Odin and he’s not even staggered. should not Ronan die if he uses the powerstone like the celestial did in GOTG flashback ? that's thor with the power gem. Once Ronan realized it was the power stone he says he will wipe out the skrulls then he's coming for Thanos.

Pace is a fantastic performer (it’s outrageous that this is the MCU role he’s stuck with), and Brolin proved years later that he can do some interesting stuff with Thanos. Exactly.

The problem is Ronan did what every idiot bad guy does and monologued to thanos and let him know he's coming at him with the power stone. Thanos is vastly superior to Ronan, but if Ronan manages to use it as effectively as the Celestial that wiped a planet with it, he can take this. Ronan, who is essentially a religious fanatic who decided that everyone in the universe should be punished for disrespecting his all-mighty Kree race, needs Thanos’ help to… do something bad. If you gave Ronan the power stone and Thanos none of the stones, I do think Ronan would take this with some difficulty. I'd go with Thanos with this since he still sees Ronan as a underling to him but Thanos will need to exert a lot of force in his punches since Ronan wasn't even fazed by a explosion (forgot what Rocket said it could do but I remember him saying he'll blow the Ravangers to hell if they don't hand over Quill and Gamora so it's impressive) but could Ronan hurt Thanos? 616, this is not and a thanos stomp. Does it really require special intelligence to understand you should prepare if a guy with a cosmic artifact of doom announced to you directly he's coming to kill you ? Club is revisiting all 21 movies in this mega-franchise through a single, significant scene in each: not the best or most memorable scene, necessarily, but the one that says something about the MCU as an ongoing blockbuster phenomenon. He lost the stone because he was so flabbergasted by Starlord challenge to a dance off.

Even without no stones, Thanos wins by a lot. Seeing how Corvus Glaive's glaive could deflect Mind Gem attacks and let relatively weak Corvus to match powerhouse like Vision, it's really possible that Thanos had something that would give him the win in a tough battle. In 1995, during the Kree-Skrull War, Ronan worked with Yon-Rogg and the Starforce after the Ambush on Torfa to wipe out the last of the Skrull refugees. To be fair, it’s not entirely Guardians Of The Galaxy’s fault that Pace’s Ronan The Accuser is such a bore. But it's very likely that Thanos would come up with some super powerful weapon to counter the Gem. But it’s not really worth having the fun sucked out of every room he enters. Power Stone makes its wielder a planet buster/surface wiper, I'd say Ronan stomps. Two of the main characters are a gun-toting raccoon with a bad attitude and his talking tree buddy. Ronan needed the power stone to face off against Xandar and was defeated by the original Guardians of the Galaxy. I want to hear more about the Black Order being trained for each infinity stone specifically? Pop culture obsessives writing for the pop culture obsessed.

I disagree, Ronan's problem wasn't the monologuing. OT: Thanos still wins. Thanos is the most powerful being in the universe. Ronan must take advantage of ranged attacks or it's likely going to go in Thanos's favor. Was thinking about this potential match up and thought it would be incredibly interesting, and I was rather disappointed no reference of Ronan's challenge was made, they actually wasted a decent fight with his death in GoTG in my opinion.

Ronan appears to STRIKE more than Thanos scaling from both of their strikes to Drax. ※I personally think without the stone Ronan is quite a match for Thanos. He does have great durability but he would get slapped up by thanos but does have a massive advantage with a stone. Not to mention we do see Ronan's hammer (whatever it's called) get destroyed so if Thanos has enough power he could just destroy it leaving Ronan powerless and potentially getting the stone for himself. Then Ronan has very limited feats with the power stone and we aren't about to use implied feats in battles. @dark_globe: I don't think the blasts that Iron Man survived were really powerful.
